We Love The Women Fandom Hates

Hey, I just wanted to give you guys a heads-up about this. There's a new comm called womenlovefest about giving love to female characters fandom hates. They're currently taking submissions of the different ways fandom shows their love, and I know a lot of you are passionate about certain characters, and how female characters are treated in fandom in general, so I think it would be right up a lot of your allies. I'm tempted to submit some things myself (People hate Jessica Jones?! Kate Beckett?! Luna Lovegood?! Say WHAT?!), but due to my usual procrastinating tendencies, I might not manage. Thankfully, though, it's an on-going thing, so maybe if it's still going by next year, I'll get something submitted.

But yeah, everyone go take a look! I encourage those of you who feel strongly about stuff like this to think about submitting something. I bet you have awesome things to say. :)

omg ikr? looking through the comm I'm legit like OMG FANDOM HATES THIS LADY? I DIDN'T THINK SO? Parker? Azula? Eowyn? Luna Lovegood? sure I don't really participate in fandom outside of my internet social group but wow. going thru the pages, yeah, i've seen a lot of bashing for a lot of these ladies but lol some of them I thought were kind of popular? IDK IDK. WHATEVS I'M TOTALLY INTO MORE LOVE FOR THE LADIES CAUSE LADIES BE AWESOME.

Thanks for letting us know, this seems like the kind of fest I could really get into. Also, I want to punch the people who apparently hate these awesome ladies. If only more of my fandoms were on the list. ;o;

I knooow, I wish I had found out about it early when people were still submitting characters! Apparently they'll be taking submissions again next month, though, so getting names on there is still possible. I really look forward to whatever you come up with, Shiori! You're definitely one of the people I had in mind when I posted this. :)

Gah, timinggggg! At least there's been some interesting stuff posted, reading this stuff is just as fun. I've decided to do an unofficial one just for the hell of it in my journal. If I can keep going for a week maybe I'll be confident enough to apply when they open submissions again. Aww thanks for sharing <3
