1. What's on your current book wish list? If too many to list, describe what kind of things are on it.
I have a book wishlist a mile long, but some titles that pop into my head are Cinder, Supergods and Devil Said Bang.

2. If you could get just one of those as a gift right now, which would it be?
Well, Devil Said Bang isn't out yet, and while I do want to read Cinder, Sueprgods has been calling to me lately. I've been seeing and hearing about it all over, despite it coming out about a year ago now. So yeah, I'll go with Grant Morrison.

3. Are there any books in your collection that you want a different or secondary copy of?
I collect editions of Alice in Wonderland, but lately I haven't been finding as many. I really want the Ralph Steadman illustrated version (it's expensive!) and the Vintage version, because the cover makes me smile.

4. When is the last time you sold/donated/otherwise got rid of books you didn't want anymore?
Oh, within the last month or two. I don't keep as many books as I used to. Unless it's near and dear to my heart, or I think I might read it again, I usually donate it to local book exchange.

5. Do you have any books written in a language other than your native tongue?
Sadly, no. I might be able to muddle through a couple children's books in Spanish or French, though.

I did :D Used book sales are usually hosted at your local libraries. Hm, if you have facebook, try searching for your main library branch and see if they have events going on for book sales and such. That way you can sale stuff and maybe pick up something new while you're there xD I know I do.

Since Lamar is starting school again, I'll definitely let him know about it.

I'm still waiting :o I know it's a new book, but c'mon!

Oh yeah, I usually go to those if I remember they're happening! I didn't realize some of them let you come and sell your own books. Or are you just donating them?

Yes, it's super useful! It also helps you save on shipping when you buy through places like Amazon and Half.com :)

Oh wow, it must be pretty popular! I wonder which of us will get our hands on it first. XD

I just donate, buuuut you can try to sale some on the side at the events, especially if you have something special someone is looking for xD Perfect place to do it, really. I know people at anime cons do it all the time to make a quick buck.

Ooh, nice! Amazon is a godsend, seriously. I'm always amazed at what I find on there.

Seems like (and it's new, so the library doesn't have too many copies at the moment). At this rate, you might get it before me lol.

Hmm, that's kind of awesome! I've never seen people do that at library book sales before. XD I might try, though I doubt I have anything people really, really want, lol.

Ikr? They were like my saviors during college. Fuck the bookstore!

Lol, maybe! I checked Half Price Books today and they didn't have a copy. ): Boo.

Doesn't hurt to try :D

Ugh, college textbooks... So overly expensive :|

That could be a good sign? Maybe it's good enough that people don't want to sale it back, hence no copies.

True. XD

Tell me about it. I do not miss that aspect of college.

Good point! I hope that's why. I've heard it spoken highly of, though, but I haven't seen too many reviews. I still don't quite know the plot.

Oh, and I got my library card today, so I may go for it once I finish the couple books I'm currently reading! If they have it available, lmfao.

Trust me, no one misses that part of college lol.

I finally got my copy today! Reading the summary, I don't quite know the plot, either, but it sounds like a modern day, sci-fi take on Cinderella, kind of. But it's somehow set in Beijing, where there is a prince that works at a shop fixing robots or something. Huh. Lol, well, I'll let you know how it goes!

Yay! Did you ever watch Arthur? I remember they had a little diddy that went something like "having fun isn't hard, when you have a library card." It's been my motto for years XD /random note

Yay! At least one of us got it! Yeah, that's about all I've gotten out of it, too, lol. And I guess the prince works fixing robots, because the main character is one, and they have to met somehow, right? Lol, hope you enjoy it!

Lmfao, yes, I was pretty constantly chanting that in my head when I was getting the card. XD Its so true, right?

Lol, something like that, yeah. I've read two chapters so far and it's not bad, it definitely has my attention already :)

Haha! That's so awesome! Glad I wasn't the only one who had that in my head when I got my first library card. And yes, it is very true. There is a kind of freedom to having a library card.

I'm expecting a full review when you're don! ;)

I still watch Arthur sometimes, man. It's such a good show. And yes, having a library card is pretty amazing. At the very least, you never pay to rent movies. XD

No problem! Give me about a week :D

Exactly, exactly! Oh, Arthur is on Netflix if you're ever feeling nostalgic or just want something light hearted to watch.

Cinder review (mild spoilers)

So I finished it! I couldn't put it down after about the forth chapter :D While there were similarities of Cinderella in it, which made some parts a little predictable, it also had some interesting political intrigue, war, more of a somber tone and of course, set in the future, that made it stand out on its own and made it its own story.

Cinder is a heroine to be proud of and is a breath of fresh air in the YA genre. She has her own mind, speaks it, and doesn't wait around for Prince Charming Kai to save her. She fights with wits and strength and craves to be independent. There are also side characters that help move the story along as well, and makes the reader wonder about their motives, for you see, people/things are not always who/what they appear to be, which is awesome.

Now, onto Price Kai. He has a similar personality to Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender, which gave his character quite the dimensions. He's thrown into dire circumstances, forced to lead young and make hard decisions. His kind of sort of relationship with Cinder keeps them both grounded and there are times were their interactions are the bright spots to an otherwise bleak backdrop (and isn't heavy on romance like a lot of YA novels out there). As the story progresses, the story unfolds and it's like opening a present, where the reader is excited and even apprehension, and wondering what's underneath all the layers of wrappers and ribbons and bows to the present within.

It was quite the ride and I hope you get a chance to read it. I give it about B+ :D

Man, it sounds great! I really love YA novels that aren't all romance and shmoop. Sounds like a winner. :D Thanks for the review! I love a smart heroine and complex hero, so this should be interesting. I'm reading a couple books already, but maybe once I finish them, I'll drop by the library and finally pick up Cinder. Thanks again!

You're most welcome! And yeah, it's definitely a winner (I can easily see this being made into a movie sometime in the next ten years). What books are you reading right now? I need some new ones to check out.

Ugh, late reply. Sorry! Anyway, I haven't been reading much, but I'm currently reading the fourth book in the Sandman Slim series by Richard Kadrey. It's a great urban fantasy series about a guy who gets sent to hell for a number years, comes back and goes apeshit on the people who sent him there. There's a lot more to it, obviously, but its hilarious and I really enjoy all the characters. There's a lot of foul language and occasionally sexy situations, but if you don't mind those, I'd say go for it. :)

It's all good :) And I don't mind any of that one bit! Sounds right up my alley, actually, and I'll have to see if my library has it. Thank you! :D
