plasmoids: (several bad puns later)

Dear short people of my flist (and beyond): Where do you buy your jeans? (And when I say short, I mean short - If you're taller than 5'3, I don't mean you.) Where do you get pants that honestly fit you: petite sizes, short inseams, etc? A specific store? Online somewhere? Perhaps for not ridiculous prices? I know about Delia's, but since leaving the east coast, it's harder for me to attain their clothes. (And shipping, Jesus Christ.) And I'm sure as hell not going to look on eBay.

Thanks in advance. ♥

target's become a lot more reliable as of late. they've split their pants and jeans into 4-5 different fit categories that mix and match various hip/waist/leg length ratios. it would probably be best to check their selection out in-store, but once you find ~your number~ you're set.

the size variations probably have more to do with how the pants fit on your hips/waist, but with all cuts and styles. they actually have two different systems going on at once, one for mossimo and one for another brand they sell side by side (xhilaration, i think) and i think the mossimo brand is more petite friendly. but also check out american eagle like your friend suggested.

I love American eagle, they have short, regular, and tall in all sizes~ I am 5'1 and short size 2 fits perfectly! I know they can be a bit pricey, but they have a lot of sales and their jeans last /forever/. I still have some from hs ~ XD

you should sign up for an ae account online. they mail and email discount/sale codes constantly and you're usually able to use them with whatever clearance sale is occurring at the time.

I bought my last pair of jeans that I JUST DID NOT TAKE OFF BECAUSE THEY WERE SO AWESOME at the Gap. I ordered them online. They were this pair, I believe. I'm 5"2' and their regular inseam fit me perfectly, probably because they're skinny leg. But they're so, so comfortable, and I literally wore them forever until I snagged them while in a hurry to get off the bus last week, and tore a hole in the knee.

Problem is, the Gap is kind of pricey (those jeans cost $70 normally), so you have to kind of wait for sales. AND WHEN SALES COME, THEY USUALLY DON'T HAVE YOUR SIZE. Like, right now they have those jeans for $30, which would be really awesome, but they don't have my size. Or anything close to it, haha.

This post reminds me that I need to buy a new pair of jeans, too. Since I tore my aforementioned pair, I've been wearing dressy pants everywhere because that's all I have left.

I used to have the length problem before I started buying skinnies. I used to be big on boot cut jeans, and they were always too long for me. And then I'd try on the petite and the length would be fine, but the pants would be too tight because I'm... not really petite, LMFAO. But then I started buying skinny jeans and bought that pair, and another similar style pants from the Gap, and didn't have fit issues.

LMAO, I really have no time to go shopping anytime soon, so I'll be wearing my dressier pants casually now, as I've been for the past week. I really dread buying new pants/clothes. My problem seems to be that I shop mostly in sales, and THERE ARE NEVER GOOD CLOTHING IN MY SIZE. Last time I went to Lord&Taylor, their sales rack had maybe six items for size 2, a dozen or so for 4-6, AND THEN A WHOLE FUCKING RACK FOR 8-10. MAN, I WAS PISSED.

My mom shops for me. She finds jeans for me at Kmart and KOHL's, which probably doesn't help that much.

Thank you, bb. ♥ Do you have any Japanese stores you recommend that might ship internationally?

aww I'm sorry, I don't know. I think there are many larger shops that do ship internationally these days but Japanese clothes tend to be over-priced and not particularly well-made, so when you add on freight it's not worth it- Chinese brands might be better. however, there's very little variety in the cut, so if you have curvy hips or much in the way of butt or thighs it'll be hard to find a good fit :( i put on weight this year so even tho im short. boxy and completely butt-free, it's hard to find clothes which fit right now ;~;

I'm 5'1", and generally I spend about two hours trying to find a decent pair and then I buy five of them. Last time I did this I ended up getting some from Old Navy, and they're pretty okay.

Lol, preaching to the choir, sister. I do that too. Old Navy? Really? Last time I was there they didn't have anything beyond a "short," but now that I'm on a different coast, maybe I'll try again. Thanks!

I would too, if girl's pants allowed for more hip/thigh room. :B
